Health Care Costs Destroying Our American System

Alan E. Moses
What are the real reasons that the system and dreams of Americans has begun a decline that only Universal Health Care with a true regulation can reverse. The costs have gone beyond reality as insurers, doctors and hospitals have drained our ability to pay. This is a classic case of no regulation or as some may say reasonable oversight. Tylenol may cost upwards of ten dollars for a single pill. A visit to the emergency room may cost $5,000 for a simple flu diagnoses. If you require equipment such as a nebulizer (for breathing treatments) the lease is $80.00 a month for what turns out to be years for a product that costs only $180.00 to buy on the market.

Hospitals across the nation show negative books as they build and build. Using these building costs to explain the cost increases in the charges that we all pay for health related needs. I once worked for a hospital that claimed they were in the red. They bought three helicopters at this time and looking at the cost you quickly saw over two million dollars spent in crews, maintenence and the building of helipads right from the get go. This was a hospital that claimed to be losing money before these expenses were added. They have since spent hundreds of millions on land and the total rebuilding of the hospital.

Why is it that the major insurers, hospital chains and the American Medical Association (AMA)have come out against a National Health Care System (NHCS)? They fear anyone looking into the books. These are classic cooked books by far. Its not the idea that is wrong but the financial manipulations that creates the harm. Only America lacks nationalization of health care in the modern world. Remember we don't have the number one system despite those that claim nationalization would remove us from that post.

Is the Obama plan going to further destroy our system? No it will in the long run improve it as long as we begin to regulate it. Only in America can the right wing Republicans claim that we should trust our government then tell us not to trust government at the same time.

Osama Bin Laden like the Soviets and Vietmenese only wanted to bankrupt us and so it seems we are coming closer everyday. During the 80's Ronald Reagen destroyed the once feared Soviets by out spending them and with negotiation. This health care issue falls under the same disguise. I blame you, you blame me and so it never changes. And Communist China has won out and sits to become the Superpower of all Superpowers. By the way their health care system is free.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has caused our health care costs to increase by lack of regulation. Toxins in the environment are the major cause of all the illnesses we see today. The Centers for Disease Control has also contributed as they are bought and paid for by the Pharmacutical Industry. Our own health care system has become the enemy and reasons for evermore costs.I will only give the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) a fast mention as they too play a role.

Its us against them as these corporate big wigs collect millions as Americans as a whole lose out. We have a problem and until we look at the issues without connection, America will continue to loose the power we have enjoyed for decades. Universal Health Care is not a negative but plus in the world today.
