The Medifast Diet - How Fast Does Medifast Work?

If you've been thinking about going on the Medifast diet and you're wondering how fast does Medifast work, let me assure you that it is probably one of the fastest weight loss diets available. But like any diet, it is important to stick to the plan as outlined, otherwise you'll find your weight loss can stall or even stop altogether.

Most dieters who decide to start doing the Medifast diet plan tend to be significantly overweight. Often this means that the first month on Medifast you can see some seriously significant weight loss. When I did Medifast, I dropped about 25 lbs my first month and a total of 65 lbs over three months. My weight loss slowed after that and it took quite a bit longer to lose the final 15 pounds that I had to lose.

But I must admit that I did not follow the plan as closely during those two months. I was a bit fast and loose with my lean and green meals and there were days that I ate two Medifast bars. You are supposed to limit yourself to one bar each day. So the fact that it took me nearly two months to lose those final 15 pounds isn't that surprising.

One of the things I really liked about Medifast though was that initial fast weight loss. It's a big psychological boost to see the weight come off and the changes in your body. And it helped me to stick it out when I had just the 15 lbs left to go because I had already done most of the work.

After awhile though, the Medifast foods can get a bit boring. So if you want to stick to the plan and keep your weight loss moving quickly, I recommend that you try and use all of the various recipes for Medifast shakes that are online, just to keep things interesting. You don't want to get so bored with the diet that you go off of it before you've lost all of your weight. Stick to the foods that you like and don't re-order the food that you don't like. You will have less likelihood of slipping up if you don't force yourself to eat stuff that doesn't taste good to you.

If you keep your eyes on the finish line, and stick to the Medifast plan -- 5 Medifast products and one lean and green meal every day -- you can definitely reach your weight loss goals much faster than you would on most other diet plans.
