Chris Brown criminal case may Hinge on Leaked Photograph

The high-profile lawyer for recording artist and sometime actor Chris Brown, Mark Geragos, has not disclosed any details about his defense of Brown against the charges that he hit, bit and otherwise (allegedly) assaulted fellow recording artist and apparent girfriend Rihanna in a possibly jealous rage.
Nonetheless, some statements by his highly respected lawyer last week may suggest that a portion of his plan may be to go after the police department for the leak of a photograph of the performers bruised face.
While the specific details of the case are as of yet not completely clear, what is known as fact is that he mentioned to a judge that he was going to ask for data regarding potential police misbehavior or perhaps procedural errors made during their investigation.
It is not exactly clear how the LAPD plans to deal with these potential allegations but what is known at this time is that they are currently questioning their own personnel and going over computers records for the past 2 months or so trying to uncover whether or not one of their people sold or otherwise gave the photo to someone in the press. Needless to say, that person, if found, would be in a great deal of trouble in that event.
Putting the spotlight on the LAPD's handling of the said photograph would certainly add to their humiliation, much like the dream team's focus on the investigative officers in the OJ Simpson case in the 1990's. The Los Angeles department does not need another such bruise. Compared to some other contemporary recording artists, Chris Brown is not as much into the flashy hip hop jewelry. While he has been seen with his 14k Gold Ring or 18k Gold Ring he is not generally pictured with the yellow rop chain, Gold diamond watch or techno master watch like many of his peers in the music world. Of course, an 18k Gold Ring is still a resonable amount of "bling bling jewelry".
Incidentially, it is against the law for authorities to profit by turning over such an photo that is confidential. Since his arrest in this now infamous case,
some of his commercial ads were canceled or at least suspended, his music was taken off of certain radio stations, and he has avoided public appearances, for the most part.
