Others believe that EBEīs actually look like humans, either by virtue of similar biology or some progressive form of disguise, and walk amongst us daily. Possible, but not likely since they would be exposed to the same dangers of society that all humans experience, such as drive-by shootings or traffic accidents. I have yet to hear of an EBE involved in a traffic accident, transported to an emergency room somewhere, and having to explain why his heart is on the wrong side of his chest or why he has two stomachs! Hmm. I donīt think there are "Men in Black" running behind EBEīs hiding or rendering explanations for these anomalies.
Assuming that EBEīs are not already among us, how would Americans react if there was a public landing of an obviously alien craft?
Studies done decades ago by the Brookings Institute on this subject said American society would basically fall apart at the seams. People would lose their belief in government, rule of law, and religion. Anarchy would rule the streets similar to the riots that occurred during the New York City Blackout of 1977 and the Rodney King Riots in Los Angeles on April 29, 1992.
Some (not all) Christian faiths do not allow for life to exist anywhere but on planet Earth. They carry the belief that Jesus Christ died for our sins and no one elseīs because no one else exists. In reality, though, the Bible does not say there are no other life forms in the universe, and Christ does make reference to other flocks, of which we know not. The big question would be whether these faiths accept these new alien beings as more of Godīs creation or as the Nephilim referred to in the book of Genesis, fallen angels corrupting mankind.
Current studies show that a majority of Americans believe in the existence of aliens. As noted in Stanton Friedmanīs new book Flying Saucers and Science, this belief increases in direct relation to higher education, meaning that the more intelligent or educated a person is, the more apt they are to believe in the existence of alien life.
Exposure to the concept of alien life through such venues as the science fiction genre of movies and books, documentaries on such channels as SciFi Channel, History Channel, and Discovery Channel, and public education from organizations like the Mutual UFO Network has taken a good amount of the notoriety and fear from the subject.
Previously, reference was made to the crash of an alien craft. In July 1947, a debris field was found on the Foster ranch near Roswell, New Mexico by ranch foreman William "Mac" Brazel. Debris ranged in size and description and was spread over a very wide area. Nearby, the remains of a craft vaguely shaped like a saucer was located, obviously the same craft that the debris belonged to. Several EBEīs were found beside the craft, at least one of which was still alive, others dead and exposed to the desert climate for several days. This crash and the subsequent recovery operation had numerous witnesses, many of whom gave statements to the media, UFO investigators, and researchers about their experiences. Again referring to Friedmanīs book Flying Saucers and Science, I find it interesting that the psychological trauma that was predicted by the Brookings Institute did not manifest in the lives of these witnesses, some of whom testified to seeing alien bodies both living and in various states of decomposition. These witnesses went on to live quiet, successful, and happy lives, raising children and grandchildren, going to work, and going to church. If they did not manifest this troubled psychology, why expect the majority of the American public to experience this?
Humans do have a fear of the unknown. This natural fear manifests to ensure survival. This fear of the unknown does not deter the human spirit. Humans also have courage and a hunger to understand and to learn. Iīm sure there will be some screaming ninnies, but it seems more reasonable that the American public will simply incorporate this new fact of life into their daily routine, and continue life as usual with minimal changes that such knowledge would result in.
