Al Gore has achieved a lot of accolades and wealth from his movie "An Inconvenient Truth", not only did he win the Nobel Peace Prize, but his personal wealth increased by millions. As Mr. Gore travels the country speaking passionately on the harm we humans are doing to this earth, his yearly light bill in his private residence was enough to power 232 average households for a month. Drew Johnson, President of the Tennessee Center for Policy Research believes Mr. Gore is "exploiting the public´s concern about the environment to line his pockets and enhance his profile." Acquiring records from the Nashville Electric Service, it was discovered that Mr. Gore uses 17,768 kWh per month, whereas the average American household uses 11,040 kWh in an entire year. Seems we bought the global warming myth hook, line and sinker, but of course it was sold to us impressively, with glitzy Hollywood stars on Oprah, Gore winning an Academy Award and "An Inconvenient Truth" being shown as truth in our schools. What we seemingly fail to understand, though, is that the climate on the earth changes, it always has and it always will, it is not something we can control. Continents have shifted, societies and animals have gone extinct, storms and floods have ravaged and mountains have been born, the earth changes and those changes are beyond our control. And attempting to control this myth of global warming is causing far more harm than good.
John Coleman, founder of The Weather Channel, has had a lot to say about Mr. Gore´s global warming "scam" and states, "The climate of Earth is changing. It has always changed. But mankind´s activities have not overwhelmed or significantly modified the natural forces." Mr. Coleman believes the global warming frenzy is threatening our civilization and sites the riots in the third world nations over food shortages and increasing costs as we use food sources to create energy. He stated, before the San Diego Chamber of Commerce, "So now the global warming myth actually has lead to the chaos we are now enduring with energy and food prices. We pay for it every time we fill our gas tanks. Not only is it running up gasoline prices, it has changed government policy impacting our taxes, our utility bills and the entire focus of government funding. And, now the Congress is considering a cap and trade carbon credits policy. We the citizens will pay for that, too. It all ends up in our taxes and the price of goods and services." KUSI
Others are beginning to step forward and 31,000 scientists have signed a petition rejecting global warming. The petition states, "There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth's atmosphere and disruption of the Earth's climate. Moreover, there is substantial scientific evidence that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide produce many beneficial effects upon the natural plant and animal environments of the Earth." The scientists signing the petition consist of 9,021 Ph.D.s, 6,961 at the master's level, 2,240 medical doctors and 12,850 carrying a Bachelor of Science or equivalent academic degree. According to research professor of chemistry Art Robinson, "Mr. Gore's movie contains many very serious incorrect claims which no informed, honest scientist could endorse." World Net Daily
Recently, though, Dr James Hansen, director of the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York spoke to lawmakers in Washington about the global warming emergency. In an opinion piece, Dr. Hansen wrote to coincide with his trip to Washington, he stated, "Instead of moving heavily into renewable energies, fossil fuel companies choose to spread doubt about global warming, just as tobacco companies discredited the link between smoking and cancer." He also suggested that, "In my opinion, these CEOs should be tried for high crimes against humanity and nature." Dr, Hansen believes that immediate actions must be taken to cut carbon dioxide emmisions that are warming the globe. News.com Of course, the solution Dr. Hansen supports is a carbon tax. So what is this carbon dioxide that is said to be ruining our planet? Simply put, carbon dioxide is necessary for plant development; photosynthesis could not occur without it, plants would not turn green. When we exhale we release carbon dioxide, the oceans also release it. It is not a pollutant; it is a natural invisible gas that has always existed. Broken down in the simplest fashion, our government now wants to tax the air we breathe since we cannot inhale, without exhaling carbon dioxide. And sadly many Americans believe that a carbon tax will end the imaginary plight of global warming, perhaps they do not recognize that this additional tax would be coming out of the pocket of the average citizen.
And now it has been suggested in Britain that every adult should have to carry "carbon ration cards" as a reasonable way to cut carbon dioxide emissions. The carbon account would be docked each time a cardholder bought gas, paid the energy bill or took a flight. It would also become a legal offense to buy gasoline without using the card. Daily Mail
So we have been duped once again, we have been fed the problem and now we will willingly accept the solution, more money handed to our government and less freedom for the average Joe. It doesn´t appear that Mr. Gore is very worried about his carbon footprint as he spreads fear about the country and it seems the ones to make the sacrifice, as usual, will be the little guys just trying to feed their families.
