Peptic Ulcers, one of the commonest diseases of the alimentary tract is a perennial problem encountered by the clinicians around the globe. The immediate cause of ulceration is digestion of the mucous membrane by increase in the secretion of (acid and pepsin of the) gastric juice; the lining of the digestive tract breaks down and ulcer are able to form. Our intestine has a remarkable ability to heal itself as it replaces its lining every 72 hours. However, refined and nutritionally deficient food, as found in typical western diet, can lead to health problems. Common complaints range from flatulence and indigestion to divertculitis and peptic ulcers.
As many herbal medicines are known to be economic and free from side effects, interest in the plant products has increased around the world. Plants have generated mankind a large divergence of potent drugs to assuage suffering from diseases. Herbal has now become a full-fledged wave, encompassing both health as well as beauty-care products.
Though diet plays an important role in healing ulcers, herbs and herbal formulations do wonders and assist further recovery in the physical state of the ulcer patient. Traditional healers in Patalkot suggest many herbal formulations for the treatment of peptic ulcers. Root bark of Berberis aristata (Daru Haridra) of family Berberidaceae is used to heal the peptic ulcers. About 15 gm dry root bark powder taken along with honey is very beneficial. Acacia gum (Acacia nilotica) is very good and can relieve the pain. Acacia gum (20gm) is crushed and mixed in milk (100ml) and leaf powder of Tulsi (Ocimum sanctum) 15 gm is added to it. This formulation is highly effective. Pterocarpus marsupium (Beeja) bark (30gm) is crushed and added in 500ml drinking water and put it overnight and filter it next day morning, drink the water in empty stomach. This process should be continuing for 4 consecutive days.
So, follow a systematic life routine and a new dietary regime, all your problems related to peptic ulcer would disappear soon.
