Seinfeld is one of those great shows you can catch on TV late at night, and you expect it to be on when nothing else is. It is packed full of humor that almost anyone can relate to, and includes problems that real people can actually understand. Rather than watching some crazy soap opera with twisted story lines, Seinfeld brings out the humor in everyday live even just by sitting in a coffee shop and chatting with friends.
Seinfeld was introduced in 1989, where it was originally directed by Tom Cherones. Andy Ackerman took over in 1994, and finished off the series until its 9th and final season in 1998. The show follows Jerry Seinfeld, who plays himself, and his three close friends who live in New York City. The plot is based on Jerry´s comedy act, which is usually inspired by the crazy events Jerry and his friends experience on a day to day basis. Along with crazy relatives and neighbors, Jerry and his friends never have a dull moment in New York City.
Jerry Seinfeld plays himself in his own show, and is a neurotic character with three close neurotic friends. Elaine Benes, a woman who he once dated, is played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Although things between Jerry and Elaine did not work out, they still remain close friends and hooked back up on several occasions. George Costanza, Jerry´s best friend since high school, is played by Jason Alexander. Many of George´s story lines relate to his chubby stature and bald head. He has a very cheap personality, which actually lead to the death of his fiancé from purchasing cheap wedding invitations with poisonous glue. Jerry´s neighbor, Cosmo Kramer, is a loose cannon character played by Michael Richards.
He is the strangest character in the Seinfeld cast, and has a hard time ever finding or keeping a job. Oddly enough, he never has trouble with money, and is constantly falling into relationships with beautiful women. Although a good friend of Jerry´s, Kramer constantly interrupts Jerry and raids his fridge on a regular basis. Although they each have their own downfalls, they are a tight group of friends who help one another through their trials and tribulations.
Seinfeld is one of the most talked about television shows, even years after it has been taken off the air. It has been nominated for and won various awards, including Golden Globes, Emmys, and several People´s Choice Awards. According to both professional critics and dedicated viewers, Seinfeld is one of the best shows ever on television. Only a few current shows can even compare to what Seinfeld had to offer, and many of the characters are having a hard time finding work since nothing can compare to what Seinfeld had to offer. Although a show about "nothing" didn´t expect this much success, Seinfeld has entertained viewers for many years, and will continue as long as re-runs are still put on the air. I don´t know about you, but wouldn´t a reunion show for Seinfeld be absolutely amazing?
